2004 Nissan Xterra
Mileage175,694Service Date1/19/2024Services Performed- Scanned modules for codes – received P0340 (camshaft position sensor "A" circuit). We ran the vehicle and graphed the camshaft sensor – is reading properly. Accessed the sensor inside the distributor (which appears newer). Sensor is secured properly and wiring is complete. We tested the wiring from the sensor to the ECU – is complete. Cleared the code and test drove the vehicle without incident. During testing the battery went dead – we fully charged the battery and tested it. Battery tests bad with 414 cold cranking amps, is rated at 550 – ok'd to replace. We cannot find a fault with the camshaft position sensor at this time but it is integral to the distributor, if issue reoccurs the distributor will have to be replaced. .
